Speech Cue Card Generator
Stop reading your speech word-for-word. Turn it into concise cue cards with key phrases that trigger your memory and keep you sounding natural.
Reading a speech from a full script sounds flat. Your audience can tell. Your eyes drop to the page, your voice loses its natural rhythm, and the connection with the room disappears. Cue cards solve this by giving you just enough to stay on track while forcing you to speak from memory.
Each card shows a key phrase or opening line that triggers the next section of your speech. Instead of reading every word, you glance down, see the cue, look up, and deliver naturally. This is the technique used by TEDx presenters, professional comedians, and experienced public speakers.
Our generator analyses your speech text and breaks it into logical sections. Each card gets a cue phrase — the first few words that jog your memory — plus the content you need to cover. Choose between 3 and 8 cards depending on your speech length, then use practice mode to rehearse flipping through them fullscreen.
For the best results, start by running through your speech on the teleprompter two or three times to learn the content, then switch to cue cards for a more natural delivery. Record yourself with the Delivery Coach to hear the difference.

Frequently asked questions
How do the cue cards work?
Paste your speech and choose how many cards you want. The tool splits your text into sections, creating a cue phrase and content summary for each card. Use practice mode to flip through them fullscreen.
How many cue cards should I use?
For a 3-5 minute speech, 4-5 cards is ideal. For longer speeches (10+ minutes), use 7-8 cards. The goal is one card per key section or story so you can glance down and immediately know what comes next.
Can I print the cue cards?
Yes. You can copy the content from each card and print them. For best results, use index cards (3x5 or 4x6 inches) with large, legible handwriting or print.
Should I use cue cards or a teleprompter?
Cue cards are better for live speeches where you want natural eye contact. A teleprompter is better for video recordings or camera presentations. Many speakers rehearse with the teleprompter first, then switch to cue cards for the actual event.
